Initial Training and Qualification
Most legal professions are limited to graduates of legal academic programs, limiting the opportunities for other national cadres to occupy these professions. The Ministry of Justice has given high priority to providing the judicial and legal sector with qualified and highly professional cadres in developing its initiatives and development plans. This has resulted in the Ministry approving and launching the Judicial and Legal Professional Qualifications Project, which is a system for developing and accrediting judicial and legal professional certificates and programs in accordance with the general framework of the National Qualifications Center in the country.
Importance of the project
The project's importance lies in its potential to achieve a qualitative leap in the judicial training sector by developing integrated, unified programs accredited by the National Qualifications Center. These programs target legal experts, translators, paralegals, conciliators, mediators, arbitrators, family counselors, notaries, judicial police officers, and specialists in economic crimes and money laundering. This will be achieved by enrolling them in accredited training programs that contribute to refining their expertise and skills and developing their knowledge and competencies. These individuals will then be awarded "professional judicial and legal certificates," most of which are at the level of an accredited diploma, enabling them to practice their professional specialties. The project targets legal trainees, university graduates, and high school graduates. The main expected outcomes of the project over the next three years include an increase in the percentage of those who obtain accredited professional certificates in the judicial and legal sectors.
Current and expected impacts
The project's most significant current impact is the Judicial Training Institute's ability to offer professional qualifications accredited by the National Qualifications Center, contributing to the development and preparation of the judicial sector in ten of the most important judicial specialties. This will also include the award of an accredited diploma to trainees in the main qualifications and the accreditation of training hours for them in the subsidiary qualifications. This is a first in the UAE's judicial sector.
The expected impact of this project is to contribute to enhancing employment opportunities for citizens and ensuring their continuing education through a specialized professional framework accredited by the National Qualifications Center. This project also supports the creation of new job opportunities in various fields of law and the judiciary, while providing the legal field with specialized personnel in line with the sector's direction to establish specialized courts and prosecution offices. All of this contributes significantly to enhancing the country's competitiveness in the legal and judicial training sector at the regional and international levels.
As for the files previously sent to you regarding accredited judicial and legal qualifications, they can be displayed in the form of a QR code, a link icon, or any other interactive method you deem appropriate for workshop participants or visitors who wish to view the learning outcomes and courses for each accredited qualification via the Ministry's website or digital platforms.
For example, if a workshop participant wishes to view the Notary Public Diploma qualification, they can click on the icon or scan the code, and the notary public profile will appear, including the qualification objective, learning outcomes, courses of study for the qualification, assessment methods, and other details.
